ABOUT Routine Skin care

image1

The goal of any skin-care routine is to tune up your complexion so it’s functioning at its best, and also troubleshoot or target any areas you want to work on. “Beauty routines are an opportunity to notice changes within yourself,”.As your skin needs shifts with age, so will your products. No matter what your skin type is, a daily skin care routine can help you maintain overall skin health and improve specific concerns like acne, scarring, and dark spots. A daily skin care routine has four basic steps you can do once in the morning and once before you sleep.

Building a skin care routine

Even oily skin needs moisturizer, but use one that is lightweight, gel-based, and non-comedogenic, or doesn’t block your pores, like  facial lotion. Dry skin may benefit from more cream-based moisturizers like MISSHA Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream. Most brands will label their products as gel or cream on their packaging.

Apply sunscreen with at least 30 SPF 15 minutes before heading outdoors, as it takes a while for sunscreen to activate. Darker skin tones actually need more sun protection because hyperpigmentation is harder to correct.

Choose a cleanser that doesn’t leave your skin tight after washing. Clean your face no more than twice a day, or just once, if you have dry skin and don’t wear makeup. Avoid washing for that squeaky-clean feeling because that means your skin’s natural oils are gone. Cleansers known to work well for all skin types

A serum with vitamin C or growth factors or peptides would be better in the morning, under sunscreen. At night, retinol or prescription retinoids work best. Makeup Artist’s Choice has an effective vitamin C and E serum and retinol available.

Daily Skin care tips

APPLY BROAD-SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN IN THE MORNING

  • Sun protection is a skin care routine must. In the morning, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher—after moisturizer but before applying makeup. Despite earning a spot on our once-daily list—since it doesn’t need to be used at night—you should reapply sunscreen at least every two hours or immediately after swimming or sweating.

REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP AT NIGHT

  • Sleeping in your makeup isn’t exactly the best idea. When you sleep in a full face of makeup, it can mix with the dirt and oil on your skin, leading to clogged pores (and clogged pores can lead to breakouts and blackheads).Simply saturate a cotton pad with micellar water and wipe it across your face. To remove eye makeup, hold a saturated cotton pad over closed eyes for a few seconds before gently wiping to remove your mascara, eyeliner, and eye shadow.

SWIPE ON A PEEL PAD AT NIGHT

  • Think about adding a peel pad,to your nightly skin care routine. The multi-ply textured pads physically resurface dead skin cells on skin’s surface to reveal the youthful-looking skin underneath. Smooth a pad over your face after using your facial cleanser, then let your skin dry before following it up with facial moisturizer. Freshly resurfaced skin may be sensitive to sunlight, so set a reminder to apply broad-spectrum sunscreen and take other sun protection measures in the morning.

USE AN ANTI-AGING TREATMENT AT NIGHT

  • Using an anti-aging treatment is necessary for fighting against signs of aging.using a retinol product nightly can help soften fine lines, prevent wrinkles, and help reduce irritation and future breakouts. The anti-aging treatment fights wrinkles, resists signs of aging, and helps strengthen the skin barrier.

SCRUB YOUR WAY TO SMOOTHER-LOOKING SKIN

  • Exfoliation—gently sloughing the surface of your skin—can help to get rid of dead skin cell buildup to reveal new, youthful-looking skin underneath. Now, how often you exfoliate is an individual choice, because it really depends on your skin type. Some people can handle it daily, while others may only need to exfoliate once a week. Stick with what works for you! Here are our best face scrubs for the job:

USE A FACE MASK

  • We love face masks not just for their ability to make our skin look absolutely ah-amazing but for how fun they are to use. Seriously, is there anything better than sitting back and relaxing with a face mask on.Apply an even layer of any of the aforementioned masks to clean, dry skin, leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water. For best results, use your choice of face mask two to three times a week.

few things to avoid for daily skin care

Lemon juice: It may have citric acidic, but it’s far too acidic and can cause dark spots to appear after sun exposure. It can also dry and irritate your skin.

Baking soda: At a pH level of 8, baking soda will stress your skin, significantly decrease your skin’s water content, and cause dry skin.

Garlic: In raw form, garlic can cause skin allergies, eczema, skin inflammation, and watery blisters.

Toothpaste: The ingredients in toothpaste may kill germs and absorb oil, but they can also dry out or irritate your skin.

Sugar: As an exfoliant, sugar is too harsh for the skin on your face.

Vitamin E: Topical application of vitamin E can irritate your skin and is not proven to improve scar appearance.
